has anyone tried doing this? I would like to make my own for after week 9. I plan on moving on to OHR but I think I'll need a few weeks of 30 min runs.

Off topic: ANyone know of OHR podcasts tha are already made??

i make my own podcasts, but i don't do it using that method. i use audacity (freeware). first i imported my playlist and made it one long mp3 file. then i saved that as the default. each week i resave the default as the new week, import the podcast (with no music) and then add fade in/fade out for the places where there is talking.

this is not as difficult as it seems. whole thing takes me about 30 minutes. let me know if you'd like more details.

I tried the method that dan discusses, but moved on to audacity.  There were two major reasons I didnt use his method.

1- My itunes, maybe a bug or maybe a newer version, doesnt allow fraction increments, so my 1.5 minutes walks would ding at 2 minutes.  In week 2, my 1.5 minutes runs will likely do the same.

2- The song ends at the ding, so in the earlier weeks of the program, you have songs that only last a minute or minute and a half.  I thought that might bum me out.  Even if that is fine with you, it means getting a lot of songs into the playlist and making sure that ones you like the most are the ones that play longer, etc.

Later in the program, once fractional times arent used anymore, I will likely go back to this method, as it is much easier than audacity.  Althought I must say, my audacity mix is awesome!  (if you like really cheezy music!)

Can anyone tell me how hard it is to use Audacity to do this?  I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to technology.

I really want to do this because I use a shuffle and it doesn't lend itself to fancy playlists.

I'm off to find Audacity!
