I'm in process of creating a set of these tracks for the C25K 9 week program.
The music in these 13-14 tracks will all be Christian Indie (no label, but good solid christian music you might enjoy.)
Some of it's comedy music, some rock, some easy listening, some instrumental, a reasonable mix of styles from about 40 Indie Christian artists who have allowed me to use their music, either through the Creative Commons, or by specific permission.
Some of the artists sell their music on Myspace or SoundClick or Virb. many just give it away. Some of us (like me) do a little of both.
Anyway, the link to get the tracks is below. If you like the music check out the artists' other stuff - I have links for every artist in the mix, and I have voiceovers to intro each song, and to cue you when to run/walk.

Enjoy - I'll have weeks 6,7,8 and 9 up in the next 2 weeks.

Thanks, Jeff. I'm enjoying doing it, but it's taking a bit more time than I thought, too. The time is mainly waiting for approval from some artists for certain songs I really want to include - some songs are available for free download but that doesn't mean you have permission to distribute, even in a package like this, so I'm getting written approval (via email) before adding anybody's music.
There are some songs I'd just love to add but I may have to give them a Pass because I didn't get the approval. Actually, some of the songs are sold too. But the artists gave me permission to include them.
I'll have a redo of week 5 and week 6's 3 tracks up by tomorrow. I have them here at work, so after hours I'll probably post them up. That will leave only 7,8, and 9 to post this weekend, and I'll be done, until I start thinking crazy, like getting ready for a 10K, in which case I hope there's a program I can mix another set for. We'll see - let's leave that one alone till Christmas.
:-)
Hey, jadams,
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, there's a mix of songs in there at different tempos. - actually, the Magix software I was using kept trying to change the tempo on all the songs I slapped in there to the tempo of the first song (the usual is 120).
I had to repeatedly change the flag to quit doing that, it's aggravating that it forgets after about 4 'pastes'. Might look tonight if there's not a way to keep it from adjusting the tempo permanently.
'When I Praise You' was probably pretty slow for you.
Oh, I would suggest that you make sure you slow your pace enough to make it through the longer runs, but it looks like you're already there, so cool!
Good luck on finishing your course, I'll check out that link and see if I want to put some of my music up there. (That would make the 15th website I'd got my music onto, I think.)
There's plenty of places now to upload your music. That site doesn't seem to have a way to do it, though (I just checked it out...)
Thanks for creating these podcasts -- I am on week 2 (for the 2nd week) and really like the music. Using the podcast is so much easier than the first day when I tried to constantly look at my watch. Even tho I'm repeating weeks as I'm getting more into shape, I'm not bored with the songs and even sing along a little bit (when I'm able to breathe!)
Thanks, Judy! your encouragement is appreciated.
I'm glad people were able to use the podcasts and enjoy the music.
Thanks, Koolette, for your kind words. I've forwarded them on to the artists as well, since we were all 'in on it' together. They could certainly use your beautiful words of encouragement.
I was running today, finishing up 4 miles, and what came on the player was 'Run' by After the Chase. Neighbors probably thought I was crazy, when the line 'I want to soar on Wings like Eagles' rolled through, I was running and had the 'wings' out too.
'Sokay, I'm allowed a little craziness. I work with Kids. :-)
Chris,
I used your podcast for weeks 1 and 2. I decided that I like a little more of a techno beat and switched to Ullrey's. Week 5 I'll probably be on to something else. I'm funny like that. I actually did enjoy a few of the songs you had and will continue to listen to them outside of my running. I'll also be downloading the podcast to seek out new music. Thanks and keep up the great work!
