Confused [*-)] First Time Runner
Reply Quote
I came across this site because several jobs that I am applying for all require me to become a runner. Ever since I was younger, I have never been able to run for any real distance. I am 32 years old, 6'0" and about 200 lbs. When I run, I feel my quads getting weaker before coming close to running out of wind. Any suggestions for a person who needs to be able to run 1.5 miles in 12:51 and has NEVER been able to run for more than 1/4 of a mile at a time?

Thank you =)

Like you, I was never a runner. I am 25 years old and even when I was a young teenager I could not run probably more than two minutes. I wasn't even overweight, but I had a really hard time breathing. I am now running 3.1 miles in 31 minutes all because of the couch 25 k running plan. I used the podcast and did EXACTLY what was suggested in the podcast. You can download the podcast on itunes. I truly believe in it as it has worked for me. Oh, and I take back EXACTLY, I think I did at least one extra workout a week. It was hard, but it was so worth it and I am a runner now :)
