Nice blog Jeff. Good luck with your half marathon...you shouldn't have any problems achieving that goal by next January.

Yeeha - just started W3D1 - but on the treadmill because the weather is bad here in Stuttgart. Felt good and it was even in the middle of the day - when I might have normally not done a thing. and on my WW I have lost 6.5 pounds.. another real success... keep it rolling!!!

thanks Knoddie for setting this up, it has given me a much needed lift to get moving again. i used to walk my dog every day in the bush, which was great exercise, but now she has a new home and i turned into a couch potatoe over summer, it was just too hot to handle.
i found quite a few people on 43things doing the challenge and looked it up, well i was hooked straight away.
cheers mate for doing such a great job!

Hi all!
Wow, what a great find! I have only accessed c25k.com for podcast link and the metric conversion...didn't realise it was so comprehensive!

I've just started week 8 and my first 28min run. I did it. I amaze myself sometimes and yes, I guess I am a runner!

I started off with a stopwatch but could tell that I could very easily drop 30seconds here or there. Thank goodness for the podcasts...Robert gets me through ♥ . Is there life after him??

I'm interested to see what others have moved onto (if at all) after getting the 5k down. Dunno what my long term goal is really...maybe just to know that I can run for 30minutes and be able to mix up my walking routine a bit.

I will be back!

Hi Nimble.

The forum's has only been going for a couple of months, so to date we have only had a couple of C25K graduates. Myself, I did a 5k race straight after finishing the program, then sort of got hooked on running further distances and completing more races. So after the 5k there was the 10k, then a half marathon and finally in October last year a full marathon. Now training for my second marathon in Bunbury on May 18.

I have grown to love the feeling of running, plus the structure of following a training program...it's now a very important part of my life.

ITA! I love the structure of a training program...maybe that's why I'm thinking further ahead.

I was pretty thrilled to check out the site further and see the links to music for running etc...that may get me by for a bit. I honestly don't know if I am running the distance stated or just doing the time. I can work on doing the distance faster iykwim.

I don't really know any other runners. That may be part of my next step too, to find some!

A friend of a friend does the 1/2 marathon on the gold coast - might be something to consider for next year perhaps?

Whatever happens I am pleased with my persistance with it (not one of my strong points ;) ). Running helps me feel great and is aiding my weight loss wonderfully.

Hey NimbleNymph from Down Under, welcome! Since you are practically graduated, if you are wanting to move on to the 10K later, there's a program I'll probably move on with called the 'One Hour Runner' (OHR) - Cool Running (http://www.coolrunning.com ) has some info on it.

You are practically beyond podcasts at that point, you can assemble your own music, because the run is usually just a straight time in that program (30,30,35min, moving up to a 35,45,60min at the end. Something like that... The runs build up during the week to a one hour run.)

I am considering creating a 'podcast set' for it later (probably just MP3s to download again.) It'll have the same kind of music, but other artists included... I guess a good thing to add would be time markers (15, 30,45 min marks, 1/2 done, etc.)

But, that's going to wait until I have this program put to bed. I'm about half done...

Check out the Christian Indie C25K Podcast...

Hello Everyone,

I'm ajeh. I haven't started the C25K plan yet but found this site through a personal finance site (beingfrugal.net) this morning. I have been considering the C25K program for about 2 weeks but now isn't a good time with school projects and exams in the way.

I plan on starting the program when school ends in a few weeks but in the meantime, I'll be checking in whenever I can to see the new updates and to learn a little about the program before I take the leap.

Great site and I look forward to being a regular once I start.

Hi everyone, my name is Cindie.  I turned 40 last year and decided that I had to get in shape before it was too late!  I just found this site a couple of days ago.  I just started week 5 of the c25k program.  I've never run before in my life and I'm excited to try my first 5k!  I am signed up to run on May 31.  I am a member of Weight Watchers and I've recently lost 56 pounds, and counting.  I have about 23 more to go to reach my goal, so I'm hoping that the running will help me with that.  I also do yoga once a week.  I also work out every morning before work with a video from my collection.

I'm a little nervous about the rest of week 5.  I will be doing day 2 on Tuesday.  I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get through that, but the 20 minute run is really scaring me!  I'm greatful for all the tips on this forum, and I'm glad to know that I'm not alone with my fears!

Thanks for putting this site together!

Cindie

Hey, just wanted to say thank you for this site, it's a great collection of resources!

The metric conversions and links to the podcasts are especially helpful.

I'm just starting out, W1D1 was today, am trying to decide which of the podcasts I'll be using.  I figure I'll try one day on each in W1, then pick a favorite :)

Hi everyone

I am planning on starting the program tomorrow. My 11 year old daughter has been at me to start running as she wants to do the Bridge to City fun run here in Brisbane in September. So this is my chance to prove to myself I can do it (fingers crossed) but hopefully I wont make too many excuses to not keep going. Reading the posts in here does give me alot of encouragment...so here I go.
