My Dr. recommended C25K to me

Hello all,
First of all. Congratulations to you all for starting this program. I only wish I would've started this instead of trying to be manly and ignore the fact that I was doing too much too fast. With little in the way of a plan, I went out and tried to run for 20 min. 3X a week. I made it about 3-4 weeks. I ran long enough to be bitten by the running bug and to give myself an MCL sprain in both knees. An orthopedist visit turned me on this this program and this forum. I just wish I would've followed this first. I have a few more days until I can get back out there and run, but I am going to follow C25K religiously. Until then it's R.I.C.E. and advil. I may do a double of week 1 just to be sure but my goal is to be able to run in a local 5K race on Thanksgiving Day. Good luck to you all. I'll post my progress as soon as I start.

Great to see you on the forum Knewshoes,
Sorry you had a bad experience, but I'm glad that you've been given some good advice. It's nice to see that medical professionals (at least some of them) have their ears to the ground.
Remember the mantra for C25K - Take it Slow.
I wish you all the best on your C25K journey, and I hope you have a speedy recovery.
Gary
