Just got back after 11 days camping in the South West of Australia. I'm currently on week 7 of a 16 week marathon program, so the plan was to follow the program as per normal while away. It gave me the opportunity to run in some really wonderful places. A lot of people don't run when on holidays, but I love it. Even ran in Phnom Penh in Cambodia and Saigon in Vietnam last year...they are great memories.
My runs on this trip were:
Tue 4 Mar, 10k intervals Bremer Bay Thu 6 Mar, 14k tempo run Luck Bay
Esperance Fri 7 Mar, 11k easy run Luck Bay Esperance Sun 9 Mar, 32k long
run Peaceful Bay Walpole Mon 10 Mar, 10k easy run Peaceful Bay Walpole Tue
11 Mar, 11k intervals Peaceful Bay Walpole Wed 12 Mar, 12k easy run
Busselton Thu 13 Mar, 13k tempo run Busselton
Lucky Bay is just a brilliant spot in a National Park. This piece of paradise I had to share with just one other person (plus some kangaroos) when running there.

On the Sunday I did my
32km run from Peaceful Bay up into the Valley of the Giants, another really nice
run.

It looks like an amazing place to run.
"A lot of people don't run when on holidays, but I love it."
I can understand why you run when you are on holidays. Holidays are about doing things that you love. Last hiloday I went on, I did a jigsaw puzzle. Not many people's idea of a holiday activity, but I don't get the chance to do them at home and I really enjoyed it. It sounds like you had a great trip.
Welcome back!

Knoddie,
It looks fantasic! Australia is at the top of my list of places to visit.
I travel for business about twice a month and on my last trip I packed my running shoes for the first time. It was fun to run in a new place. I felt like I wanted to run faster, but the city I was in is located about 1600 meters (a mile) above sea level. I live near sea level and thin air forced me to slow down. It was still a great training opportunity. I think my running shoes will be coming with me much more often in the future.
