Week 6

Pittsburghmjr 09-01-2008, 9:11 PM
I was stoked on W5D3, the 20 min jog, then I get this brutal summer cold that forced me to miss a week and f'd everything up. I never did W5D3. I decided to start W6 and instead of the 25 min on day 3 I'll do the 20 min jog.

W6D1
I was worried about how I was going to do with taking a week off, but it went pretty good. After the fist 5 min jog I felt like I could have kept going, but I didn't want to over do it. The 8 min went well but kind of tired toward the end of the last 5 min. I'm so glad to get over that brutal summer cold and get back to the track.

What a terrible day. The first 10 min jog went ok, but I started to tire with 1:30 left. Then I struggled with the 2nd 10 mins. I just didn't have the energy. There were a couple times I just wanted to stop and walk it out, but I sucked it up and finished. I really hope D3 goes much better. I'm going to chalk it up as just one of those days.

Your body might just be still recovering from your summer cold. I bet your next run is much better.

Congrats Jenna. I love days like that.

W6D3 part 1
So I started running in the mornings before work instead of at night. It's a nice way to start the day.

This part is my 20min day due that brutal summer cold. It didn't go well. I lost all energy around the 15 min mark and walk the last 5.  I was totally mad with myself for not completing 20 straight minutes. On the bright side, I run on the outside lane at the track and I was going at an 8 min pace, so I did run about 2 miles.

W6D3 part 2
The second day of my new morning routine went so much better. I slowed my pace down a little just to make sure I finish. I stopped using an iPod, apparently they're not allowed in the 5k I'm doing, so I started to used the first lane to keep track of my distance. I'm not sure it was 25 mins but I jogged over 2.5 miles and felt like I could have kept going. I picked up my pace for the last few laps. I'm very happy with today.

Week 7 starts on Friday.
