Hi,
Does anyone have an idiots guide to make my own podcasts for couch to 5k? I want to use my own mp3 music files and include a voice prompt for when to run and walk??
Any help greatly appreciated. Alternatively does anyone have any couch to 5k podcats of all 80's music?
Cheers
Johno

Have no idea, but I'd love to know this, too. When I'm done with c25k, I'm going to (I think - remains to be seen lol) take another 2-4 weeks of jogging 30 mins 3x a week to improve on that, before moving on to the 8k podcasts (to be followed by the 10k podcasts). I'd love to do OHR, but don't see any podcasts for that, LOL. I'm pod-addicted, LOL... must have music! Ack! LOL

http://danterner.blogspot.com/2007/09/make-your-own-kind-of-music.html - I have this bookmarked, not sure how good it is - seemed somewhat techie when I skimmed it but I tend to bookmark things that "might come in useful someday" (my grandmother's eternal motto).
Updated guide on the same blog to the apps and things available for this http://danterner.blogspot.com/2009/07/make-your-own-kind-of-music-2009-remix.html - WHY CAN'T WE GET A NON-TOUCH C25K APP BTW APPLE?! YOU GUYS SUCK! (I'd settle for a Symbian OS one either that I could use on my mobile phone - seriously - there MUST be one out there for Symbian phones).

OHR is all progressively longer straight runs, probably don't need a podcast for it, just some sort of timer.

This thread seems a little old, but I just found a site called podOmatic.com, and I'm going to give it a shot. It says you can make easy (and free!) podcasts. I'll let you know how it goes. :)

Hmm...well, it seems that I am an idiot! The site is just to advertise your podcasts...not make them. Hmm..I'm off to find something else! :)

Hey guys, joined to respond to this as it seems it could be something a lot of people would like to do. It's easy to edit mp3's and record your own cue to change speed. Luckily this can be done for $0. Go to http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ and download the program. It's 100% free and open source. It's easy to learn. You can load mp3's you have and then edit them however you like. It would be helpful to have a mic so you can record your own cues. Feel to free to ask any questions, I'm not a bot or an audio professional but I can help. You can select any portion of audio and cut and paste. Have a blast. Feel free to ask any questions. If there's a few people that need some basic step by step instructions I can try to make a video.

I'll second the support for Audacity. I used it to make podcasts right through C25K using a mic to record verbal cues or just using the program to generate a tone when it was time to change song.
The only difficulties I had were at first getting used to using the program and also that most of the music on my computer was in .wma file format which audacity can't work with but there are some good free programs out there to convert files.
Also, you need to download the LAME mp3 encoder, but that again is really simple. Download and install and away you go. :)
