Feet Changing? Or is it the Shoes?

I got fit for my shoes at a running store. I tried on 4 different brands and the Asics just felt wonderful in the store.
After 8 weeks of C25K, the shoes don't feel as good as they used to. Either my feet changed, my ability to detect what I need in a shoe changed, or the shoes are breaking in a little and just aren't as comfortable.
Anyone else notice this?
I'm starting to get a bit of a "hot spot" on the top of my right foot -- only bothers me in my running shoes. Plus, I'm noticing that the heel box in these shoes is really a bit too big, my heels sliding around a little.
Maybe I'm just becoming a more "sophisticated" running shoe consumer????

Buckeye, you may need to lace your shoes up differently: http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-267--12334-0,00.html
If that doesn't work, then you probably do need to get refitted.

I think too that sometimes your stride changes as you become a better runner....

I wear Asics (2130, 40, 50). Out of the box they are perfect, I don't even have to do short runs to adapt to them. I can put em on and go. But over time, like any shoe, the shape changes slightly. The higher the mileage gets on my shoes, I have to lace them differently (I use the one that cinches up the heel). If my knee starts aching that's the sign for me to retire my shoes.
Some shoe models wear better than others from the same manufacturer... might want to google your shoe model and see how they are wearing for others.
I had posted a picture on my blog of my running shoes side by side, sometimes it's not until you put on a new pair of shoes do you realize just how worn your old ones are.
Shoelover, the lacing to help prevent your heels from slipping really does work. I was so happy I found that.
one morning I woke up inspired to try

Gave the parallel lacing a try today and it worked like a charm. I also did the top using their suggestion and got rid of the heel slippage.
I didn't notice the shoes at all this run, which I guess is the goal -- to NOT notice them.
I'm going to try relacing my daily sneaks and see if I notice a difference there as well.
