For me, it's all about 70s and 80s R&B/Funk.  I could make it through anything (even ~gulp~ 20 minutes of non-stop running) listening to these:

No Parking on the Dance Floor
Freakazoid
Got a Meeting in the Ladies Room
Aint Nobody
Let the Music Play
Give Up the Funk
Car Wash
Play that Funky Music
Brick House
Fire (Ohio Players)
Love Rollercoaster
You Dropped the Bomb on Me
Burn Rubber
Jungle Love
Tear the Roof Off the Sucker
Flash Light (Parliament)
Let the Music Play
Boogie Nights
Ladies Night
Word Up
Strawberry Letter 23
Superstition
Get Down Tonight
Early in the Morning (Gap Band)
Turn the Beat Around

To name a few.......................Big Smile [:D]

Terrible Grammar aside, that song has gotten me through more workouts than I care to admit.

Well, I wouldn't feel bad about any song. For me I look for songs that not only "pump me up" but also evoke some emotion or that sort of "zones me out".

I use one. The one with the green icon?

You can double tap the home button to bring up the song controls without stopin the app, just make sure it's a double tap or you will stop it.

I listen to all sorts of stuff while I run, but the last few minutes of running I usually listen to Cake's version of "I will survive" -- it's perfect to keep me pushing on!

There are a lot of "collections" under iTunes essentials for working out, running, pumping iron, etc. Picked up a few songs.

I'm Probably not the only one, but I listen to a bunch of Army Cadence songs, including a marching one at the start and end. That is what really keeps me going, nice and steady.

FYI, for those iPhone users, with the upgrade to 3.0, the wireless headsets are sweet and now easy to use with no additional parts. Works great.

As does the shake to shuffle. I had been using my Nano at the gym, but more and more using the iPhone.

That's an intriguing idea, listening to a book, never thought of that. I think I'll give it a try. Where to you buy the audio books for your iPod, on iTunes?

The last several runs I've been listening to an a capella group from Madison, WI--The Cat's Pajamas. Very upbeat, fun music to run to. http://www.vocalmeow.com/index.php

Here's my C25K iPod Playlist:

Rusted Root - Ecstasy

The New Radicals - You Get What You Give

Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone

Korn - Got The Life

System Of A Down - Sugar

30 Seconds To Mars - Battle Of One

Deftones - My Own Summer (Shove It)

Limp Bizkit - Counterfeit

Methods Of Mayhem - Get Naked

As you can tell I like mostly screamy music to keep me pumped up...and who doesn't like Kenny Loggins!!  I feel the need....the need FOR SPEED!

Sorry for the late reply. I buy my audiobooks via. audible.com - I have a subscription so I get a few points a month to buy books for, it's a bit cheaper than from iTunes.

I've just finished The Hobbit as audiobook (I've read it before) and have begun on The Lost Fleet: Dauntless
