Welcome

It's been some ten months since I started the c25k.com site, and since that time the amount of visitors coming here every month has grown from 800 back in April 2007, to nearly 9,500 in January 2008.
Back when I first built the site I thought about adding a forum, but didn't do so because I didn't want it to be one of those ones you get to, and no-one is posting to. Now with a lot more people visiting every month, I thought I would set it up and give it a go.
So please join our little community to help you get through the Couch to 5k program.
If you have any suggestions about the forum, or the site, please let me know.
Rob

Great to see you guys posting here, and all the very best with the C25K program. C25K has made such a huge difference to my life, it would be just brilliant to follow some of the people who visit here while they enjoy a similar transformation.
Until lots of others start posting, I'll certainly be happy to provide any advice if you have any questions (not that I'm an expert).

Hi Knoddie and fellow c25k-ers!
Thanks Knoddie for setting this up and for all the resources you have on this website - you runners as such a nice bunch!
I have just finished week5 and completed my first 20 minute run. I still can't believe that I actually ran that long (although a lot of people walk faster than I "run") and am amazed at how well this program works. I can't wait til my next run and am looking to enter a fun run in a few months time.
Looking forward to chatting with you all

Hi Shelly, congrats on your 20 minute run...that is such a milestone. It's all down hill from here. You are definitely a runner now!

Great resource, knoddie! I only wish that I had found your site while I was working through the Couch to 5k program. The cool thing is, being a Couch to 5k alum, I can come over here and cheer on the all of the C25K converts.
Do you plan on putting together anything for C25K graduates? Is that what the "Beyond" section is for?
Keep up the good work, knoddie.

Thanks Jeremy. I'm not doing that much really. I remember Steve Runner from the Phidippidations Podcast saying it was our job as runners to inspire at least one other person to start running. I thought the best way to achieve that was to start this site...and hopefully I have achieved it. That given; in reality it's just a collection of links to other sites, and didn't take much to build.
Yes, I intended the "Beyond C25K" section to be for people who have finished C25K, and hopefully help and inspire them to keep running.
I remember when I started doing C25K, running 5k looked like an almost impossible goal. But when I achieved that it was very much "what's next?". So from my first 5k race, it became my first 10k race, then my first half marathon, and then finally the big kahuna, the full marathon. I achieved that in October last year...and am now in week 3 of my 16 week training plan for marathon number 2 on May 18.
What I like is the structure of the training programs, completing them and seeing the improvement, and the achievement of the goal.
Plus of course I've found I really like running for running's sake. Because of that I keep at least one run a week to where I'm not worried about distance or speed...purely enjoyment. That run is usualy a really easy 11km at my local beach. I just love it.
It's great to see other graduates such as yourself really getting into it. Congrats!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I'm going to start week 3 on Monday, but so far, this program has completely turned my life around.
I turned 40 in January, and i've got about 50 lbs to lose. My buddy told me about C25K and I have been hooked from day 1. On my first day, I thought, "Oh my god, I'll never do 3 miles!", but honestly, I can see that light at the end of the tunnel. I know I'm going to be able to do this and finally get back to the runner I used to be 20 years ago.
Love the site, love the forum (which I just discovered tonight) and love the program.
Thank you so much. You're helping me save my life!

Hi there!
I heard about this website on another forum I visit, and thought I'd take a peek! I started going to the gym at the beginning of the year, and have made good progress since then, but now I want to start running. So, I am going to have a go! I have enrolled in my first 5k, and I have until June 15th to get fit! Its a charity run, for Cancer Research UK, and I am doing it in rememberence of my grandfather who died of lung cancer and my grandmother who survived ovarian cancer.
Anyway, I hope you are all doing well, and I'll see you around!
Julia

I'm psyched to be connected to your group!!!! because that means I'm actually out there actually doing what I have only talked about for the past 5 years!!! I used to be a runner - 25 years ago - and ran on and off, but mostly off, but now I'm back and totally committed to gaining that title back - runner. and getting skinny along the way - another dream of mine. Thanks for creating this whole program from podcast to links (I tracked my miles on the geoped program too) to this discussion site! and i'm doing it from stuttgart germany
thanks so much!

Hi all,
i heard about the programme on another website I belong to - I haven't started yet but I fully intend to in the next week or so, just getting rid of a virus first!
Look forward to following the journey with everyone!

I just started the Couch to 5k Program this past weekend. My goal is to run in a half-marathon by next January and I am starting with C25k. Thank you for this site, the resources you link to are amazing.
