Yeah i listen to audio books now too Brian. Or the occasional podcast, but on my iPod i can't get it to play the next podcast, so it just repeats :/
It's great, takes my mind of that twinge in my knee, those heavy thighs, or that stitch developing on my right (can't really take my mind of the latter).
I also find it easier to keep my own tempo, rather than just syncing with the music and running too fast, or too slow if a slow song comes on.
And you learn something :)

Cool that this thread is still going. I found that I like to listen to "For those About to Rock" by ACDC on my warmup walk. Get's me ready!

I put together my own 30 minute thing for week one (which is what I'm starting now.) It's 29:29. Starting after the 5 minute warmup, there are explosions to signal the running and this weird winding-down spinning noise to signal the walking. The music is as follows:
High School Musical 3 - The Boys Are Back Ashley Tisdale - Crank It Up Ashley Tisdale - He Said She Said Corbin Bleu - Push It To The Limit High School Musical 3 - I Want It All Miley Cyrus - Party in the USA Selena Gomez - Falling Down Vangelis - Chariots of Fire <--- my personal favorite xD Jay Z - Run This Town is for the cool down.
At the end of chariots of fire is also some cheering and clapping noises I put in so I can feel good about my efforts. :D
I uploaded it in mp3 format if you want it! (I like Disney stars and I hope you do, too >>) Kyatto's WK1 D1-3 Playlist

I'm a big fan of running to podcasts so far. My favorites include:
Skeptic's Guide to the Universe
Vegan Freaks
The Abolitionist Approach
We Other Animals
The Atheist Experience
News In Slow Spanish
Freedom From Religion
I like breaking it up with music in between though. Some days I'm in a podcast mood and others I'm in a music mood. Today I ran to a mix of Sage Francis, Public Enemy, and Dead Prez. Monday was the new Slayer album and Ion Dissonance.

For me, there's nothing like hip hop for running! Jay Z and Roots are my favourites, oh and Talib Kweli - check it out! I tried Radiohead the other night and it felt like running in syrup...

So far Ive made my own. For the warmup I have some massed pipes and drums marching which allows me to practice my Drum Major drill.
For the program itself I have various Massed Pipes and Drums tracks interspaced with silence for the walks, I find that the pipes and drums gives me energy to keep going and the silence on the walks gives me time to think about things (I have an active imagination, and my evil side start scheming on the walks lol). I put a beep in 5 seconds before the run starts...
Though im up to W3, I think I wont be able go do it once the weeks start swapping each rep...

I just finished reading all 50+ responses and am surprised that no one mentioned listening to RunningIntoShape.com podcasts! Even when I'm struggling, her booty songs make me smile and keep me fighting.

I used to listen to Dream Theater - Metropolis Part 2 but the none 4/4 time signature didn't really help with the running. Now I listen to Daft Punk's Live at Coachella 2006, and its absolutely fantastic. The beat matches my running pace, and a bit of air keyboard is always fun while running.

Holy Moly People! how in the world do you make your own podcasts? I am such a moron with my IPOD! I like the podcasts which tell me when to run and when to walk. I need that coach type thing in my ear.
Although, when I start W4 next week maybe no coaching?
I have to say that I like the hip hop music. That really gets me going, seems to have a good beat for my feet. (hey i made a rap! hee hee)

workingondream -you need to me share your download w/me...I like your choices!
I love Robert Ulrey but I found once I was past intervals it didn't work for me...I used music last night -just random stuff on my MP3...it was ok. I need to make an intentional set.
